Prepares and cooks nutritional, balanced meals for residents and employees of center by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Draws supplies appropriately and prepares meals from prepared menus.
Sets up steam tables, prepares food and carts for delivery according to specified time schedule.
Maintains cleanliness of entire food service area and equipment by following Food Service Manager's daily clean up schedule.
Cover, date, label, store and refrigerate foods appropriately.
Reports needed supplies.
Assumes responsibilities and places orders in the absence of the Food Service Manager.
Follows all safety, health, and infection control policies.
Uses effective internal and external communication.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Less than high school education; and 1 years related experience or training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out routine reports and place orders in the absence of the Food Service Manager.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, and volume. Ability to accurately weigh and measure food ingredients and portions.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
