Crisis Counselor- Youth Crisis Center - Charlotte, NC

Interested in getting hands-on experience in the human services field? The Relatives is seeking qualified applicants to serve in our Youth Crisis Center. Staff person would be responsible for interacting and leading activities with clients (ages 7-17), inputting accurate weekly data of all crisis calls and walk-ins into the CDT system; supervising clients throughout their shift; completing intakes if they arrive during their shift; ensuring the house is clean and tour ready; administering medications as needed; and other duties as needed.

High School Diploma/ Equivalent Required. Experience with population preferred.

The Youth Crisis Center operates 24/7, 365. Part-time and PRN positions available. 2nd, 3rd, and weekend availability strongly preferred. Must be able to attend a two week orientation.

Pay rate is $11.50/hour.

SUMMARY

Responsible for offering appropriate intervention services; facilitates individual, group and family conferences and provides appropriate referrals to residents and families as needed; responsible for maintaining the residence and clients in a clean and safe environment.

EMPLOYEE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including service plans, client assessments and verbal/written summary of each resident at shift change.

All forms of required documentation are completed by the end of the shift and error-free

Direct care staff provide quality services in accordance with Love and Logic, TCI regulations, Joint Commission standards and agency policies

100% of services will meet standards and policies

Direct care staff will demonstrate the ability to function safely, professionally and ethically without the benefit of direct supervision.  This includes serving as resident advocate, providing referrals, facilitating individual and group sessions and case management (as needed).

100% compliance as evidenced by work product quality, quantity, timeliness and by any client/staff reports. Requests for supervisory intervention are appropriate to crisis shelter/transition house experience and situation.

Answer and respond to phone calls, including crisis calls.

Staff will answer crisis calls within 3 rings and if return call is necessary do so within 1 hours.

Completes all mandated training.

100% of required training will be completed within specified time frame.

Maintains neat and safe work environment 

98% or higher rate of compliance at time of random residence inspection following staff shift

Responsible for the overseeing the administration of doctor-referred medication to residents

100% compliance as evidenced by completion of documentation and medication administration, including MAR transcription, pill count (if applicable) and distribution of medication.

Attendance:  Has minimal occurrences of unscheduled absences or lateness

No more than 5 unscheduled events per year

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Human Services for Crisis Counselor; for Awakenight, Overnight and weekend an Associate's Degree in Human Services is acceptable or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer 6 months of related experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid  NC or SC Driver's license.
