What you would do:

Alexander Youth Network is looking for a teacher for an opportunity in our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). Qualified applicants must be a NC licensed teacher with Special Education certificate. Must have BED Certification for grades K -12, and at least two years of experience working directly with the children's mental health population preferred.  Must have ability to conduct, interpret, and translate diagnostic assessments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Completes documentation timely and accurately
  • Develop and Implement IEP plans as needed. Utilize testing and assessment data in order to modify IEP as needed
  • Maintain student records in accordance with NC's procedures governing programs and Services for Children with Disabilities
  • Participates in clinical staffings
  • Provides quality services in accordance with Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) and agency policies
  • Adheres to Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) protocols for restrictive interventions (RIs)
  • Student Portfolios
  • Education Documentation
  • Completes all mandated training

Bachelor's Degree is required, BED Certification for grades K -12, and one years(s) of pediatric mental health experience.  Must have ability to conduct, interpret, and translate diagnostic assessment.

Proficiency in MS Office applications


Must have Bachelor's degree in special education with valid EC teaching certification in NC or equivalent degree approved by the Board of Education. Valid NC or SC Drivers License
