Intake Specialist 3rd Shift- Youth Crisis Center - Charlotte, NC

Interested in getting hands-on experience in the human services field? The Relatives is seeking qualified applicants to serve as Intake Specialist at The Relatives Youth Crisis Center.

High School Diploma/ Equivalent Required. Experience with population preferred.

The Youth Crisis Center operates 24/7, 365. This is a full-time, 3rd shift position. Hours are 11pm to 7am, Sunday - Thursday. Must be able to attend a two week orientation. 

Pay rate is $12.00/hour.


Responsible for offering appropriate intervention services; conducts all intakes, walk-ins, family conferences, and dischargesthoroughly communicates with all team members the progress of each case; listens to and takes into account the progress reports/notes of each client from the Enrichment Coordinators; completes chart corrections; engages with clients to observe and assess their needs while at the Crisis

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including service plans, client assessments, case management, discharges, and verbal/written summary of each resident at shift change.

Provide quality services in accordance with Love and Logic, TCI regulations, Joint Commission standards and agency policies

Demonstrate the ability to function safely, professionally and ethically without the benefit of direct supervision.  This includes serving as resident advocate, providing referrals, facilitating individual and group sessions and case management (as needed).

Answer and respond to phone calls, including crisis calls.

Completes all mandated training.

Maintains neat and safe work environment 

Responsible for the overseeing the administration of doctor-referred medication to residents

Attendance:  Has minimal occurrences of unscheduled absences or lateness

Bachelor's Degree in Human Services for all Crisis Center Staff (Crisis Counselors, Intake Specialists, and Enrichment Coordinators); for awake night, Overnight and weekend an Associate's Degree in Human Services is acceptable or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer 6 months of related experience


Valid NC or SC Driver's license.
