Licensed Clinician- Day Treatment - Lexington, NC

Alexander Youth Network is looking for a licensed professional for an opportunity as a Licensed Clinician to serve in our new day treatments in Davidson County. This position will provide therapy services to children at Davidson Day Treatment (middle school) and Southmont Day Treatment (elementary school). Qualified applicants should have at least 2 years mental health experience and must have a current license in NC (fully or provisionally licensed LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LPA).

SUMMARY

Provides psychiatric assistance to behaviorally or emotionally disturbed clients of agency's treatment programs, and to their families, collaborating with psychiatric and treatment review team in diagnosis and treatment planning; interprets clinical information to pertinent team members; demonstrates understanding of systems theory; cultural diversity, self-determination and self-awareness issues; applies knowledge of child growth and development; provides case management services to children on caseload, including but not limited to assessing, linking, and monitoring all services received; intervenes in the cycle of crisis and prevent unnecessary restraints or seclusions.  Ensures the use of less restrictive interventions to minimize restraints and seclusions as appropriate; ensures crisis plans are created and followed; provides clinical supervision of staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assesses the needs of clients within the program
  • Promote and adhere to Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) principles
  • Provide clinical direction within the program implementing NMT principles
  • Complete all documentation, including progress notes, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Accurately maintain client Electronic Health Record
  • Complete all mandated training
  • Provide regular and consistent therapy

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Credentials as provisionally licensed professional required.  If provisionally licensed, must achieve full licensure within 30 months of hire. Familiarity in MS Office applications preferred.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES  

Age specific competency for children and adolescents, competency in the Working with Mental Health Population

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Valid Driver's license in state of residency.  Credentials provisionally licensed professional required.
