Bilingual Licensed School-based Therapist (Contract) - Charlotte, NC

Alexander Youth Network is looking for a bilingual (Spanish) licensed clinician a for contract opportunity as a School-based Therapist to provide clinical services at Charlotte East Language Academy. Qualified applicants should have at least 2 years mental health experience and must have a current full or provisional license in NC (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LPA.)


Provides mental health counseling services to behaviorally or emotionally disturbed clients within the school setting and to their families as needed, collaborating with teachers, school personnel, and other relevant individuals and entities in treatment planning. Operates on a flexible schedule as required. Will perform the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interprets clinical information to pertinent team members.
  • Completes Comprehensive Clinical Assessments.
  • Care coordination including referrals to needed services.
  • Provides regular and consistent outpatient counseling/therapy to individuals, families, and/or groups.
  • Intervenes at early points in emotional disturbances and assist parents, teachers, and student support staff in developing comprehensive strategies for resolving these disturbances.
  • Provides consultation for teachers and other school staff on mental health issues
  • Completes relevant paperwork such as discharge notes and progress notes in a timely and proficient manner.
  • Applies knowledge of child growth and development.

M.S.W. and two years related experience in behavioral healthcare preferred. LCSW or LPC or eligibility for state certification preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals.  Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from clients and families, and outside treatment providers, and members of the community.  Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups.


Familiarity with mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Full or provisional LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LPA.  Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training (provided) and a N.C. Driver's license.
