Interested in getting hands-on experience in the human services field? The Relatives is accepting applications for an Intake Specialist at the Youth Crisis Center Full time and Part time positions.
Minimum of 21 years of age.
High School Diploma/ Equivalent Required. Experience with population preferred.
This position is 3rd shift. Part Time (16 or 24 hr) position. Friday & Saturday 11pm-7am. Must be able to attend a two-week orientation Mon - Fri, from 9am-5pm.
Pay rate is $14.00/hour.
Takes on leadership role of the Crisis Center; responsible for offering appropriate intervention services; conducts all intakes, walk-ins, family conferences, and discharges; lead all of the cases; thoroughly communicates with all team members the progress of each case; listens to and takes into account the progress reports/notes of each client from the Enrichment Coordinators; completes chart corrections; engages with clients to observe and assess their needs while at the Crisis Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned
Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including service plans, client assessments, case management, discharges, and verbal/written summary of each resident at shift change.
Provide quality services in accordance with Love and Logic, TCI regulations, Joint Commission standards and agency policies
Demonstrate the ability to function safely, professionally and ethically without the benefit of direct supervision. This includes serving as resident advocate, providing referrals, facilitating individual and group sessions and case management (as needed).
Answer and respond to phone calls, including crisis calls.
Completes all mandated training.
Maintains neat and safe work environment
Responsible for the overseeing the administration of doctor-referred medication to residents
Attendance: Has minimal occurrences of unscheduled absences or lateness

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services for all Crisis Center Staff (Crisis Counselors, Intake Specialists, and Enrichment Coordinators); for awake night, Overnight and weekend an Associate's Degree in Human Services is acceptable or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer 6 months of related experience
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write to a prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to groups of children, managers, and other employees of the organization.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid NC or SC Driver's license.
Competency is defined as the techniques, procedures, technology, skills or equipment needed to do one's job. The following competencies are required of this position; Age specific competency for children and adolescents, competency in the Administration of Medications, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Life Saving / Safety to include First Aid and CPR; Working with Mental Health Population through utilization of TCI and Love & Logic, Blood Borne Pathogens and Infection Control.
