Intensive In-home Specialist - Charlotte, NC

SUMMARY

Provides brief, intensive community-based services to parents and children in the Intensive In-Home program. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

These services are provided in the client's home, school, and community settings, under the direction of the Intensive In-Home Therapist:

 

  • Is available to the consumer and family as needed and make reasonable efforts to provide services that have been authorized.

 

  • Serve and connect with the family as the primary and crucial support system for the child or adolescent.

 

  • Intervene in the cycle of crisis and prevent unnecessary out of home placement.

 

  • Collaborate and advocate with collateral agencies in order to meet family and consumer needs.

 

  • Submit daily progress notes without prompts.

 

  • Complete documentation which supports and justifies continued services as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree required. This position requires the privilege of Qualified Professional (QP). Two years of documented experience with the child/adolescent mental health population is required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, governmental regulations, or legal documentation.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence to a prescribed format and style.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of children, top managers, clients and families, volunteers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS and TRAINING

Completion of Intensive In-Home services trainings within first 90 days of employment;

Valid NC or SC Driver's license.
