Nursing Manager - RTC

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Gives performance reviews on time 

Seeks professional development opportunities or continued education without prompting; obtains/maintains certification or licensure As often as continuing education is available

Will meet or exceed objectives set for their department's annual work plan 

Monitors documentation of records 

Leads and records Infection Control meetings Attends quarterly meetings 

Supports the Organizational Committees including EOC, risk assessment, Health and Wellness, Client/ Family Team Meetings Reassigns appropriate representation if not available

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises assigned staff; Plans, determines priorities, schedules, assigns, oversees, and reviews RN staff work product; Monitors nursing care in relation to RN standards of care and practice, conducts departmental audits, oversees all nursing documentation for accuracy, reviews medication incidents, addresses consumer and staff complaints and resolves problems. Support Psychiatrist with tasks during their rounds. 

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION

Nursing Diploma, AAS Nursing or Bachelors of Science in Nursing required, unencumbered RN license, a minimum 4 years employed as a RN in a Mental Health setting and 2 years of RN Supervisory experience,

SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing; strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills, ability to develop therapeutic relationships with pediatric clients and family members, supervisory ability, knowledge of JCAHO and other accreditation regulations

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Competency is defined as the techniques, procedures, technology, skills or equipment needed to do one's job. The following competencies are required of this position; Growth and development of children, knowledge of medication administration rules, experience with therapeutic crisis intervention, Current CPR certification; Knowledge of Blood Borne Pathogens and Infection Control.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid NC or SC Driver's License, Unencumbered NC RN License or reciprocal;

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to variable lighting situations and weather conditions as RN services are provided 24hr a day, both indoors and outdoors on the PRTF campus, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
